Success Begins in Your Head

Hello friends, Jeremy here! Are you looking for ways to find wealth, success and abundance, but you don't know where to begin? Today's blog post is exactly what you are looking for. Jordan reveals the secrets of how to begin your journey to self-mastery, improvement and wealth. It is no surprise, that it all starts from within… Take a few minutes to educate yourself on the subject and begin the path to success from today!

“Act as if! Act as if you’re a wealthy man, rich already, and then you’ll surely become rich. Act as if you have unmatched confidence and then people will surely have confidence in you. Act as if you have unmatched experience and then people will follow your advice. And act as if you are already a tremendous success, and as sure as I stand here today – you will become successful.” ~ Jordan Belfort

Yes, I said those exact words and on more than one occasion. And no, there is nothing mystical or magical about how the positive results of “act as if” come to be. In reality, it’s all rooted in science – both physiological and psychological. And because it’s science, we know how it works and how to make it work for us.

At the heart of all this is a part of the brain called the reticular activating system (RAS). It performs many interrelated functions centered around the sleep/awake cycle and the transition from one to the other. The RAS plays an important role in dreaming and maintains control over our survival instincts like fight or flight. And for our purposes today, the RAS acts as a sort of gatekeeper and file organizer for the brain.

Just think for a moment about the amount of stimulus your brain has to manage just walking down a busy city street. Consider just the sounds for a moment – hundreds of conversations within earshot, the shuffling of feet across the pavement, the revving of car and truck engines, the honking of horns, blaring of sirens and screeching of tires, and yet you can still hear a familiar voice calling out your name.

How does that happen?

You had already made a conscious determination, many years ago, to respond to your name and your RAS passed that information on to your subconscious mind where it’s been stored ever since. In a similar fashion that familiar voice has also been cataloged by your RAS for future reference.

If you were a birdwatcher, you might be able to pick out the tweet of a single sparrow on that noisy city street. If you were in search of a CVS, you’d be able to spot that logo in a sea of flashing neon. Like I said, the RAS acts as a gatekeeper, allowing what’s familiar and important at the moment to reach the cognitive part of your brain, while filtering out the minutia.

Just as a side note: if you fail to capture your prospect’s attention in the first four seconds (Right? You’ve heard this before?) your prospect’s RAS will start transmitting “BORING” and “NOT IMPORTANT” signals, filtering out pretty much everything you say from the fifth second onward. Your voice will be like the background noise on that busy city street. This is why mastering what I teach about tonality and body language is so crucial to your success as an influencer.

Now, by now you might have an idea of just how act-as-if works. See, if your RAS brings to your attention the things that are important to you and you can consciously train your RAS to store in your subconscious what’s important, then you can stock up on a whole host of positive things and quite literally change your reality.

Exactly what you can store is really the icing on the cake here because the RAS is like the central hub for all your thoughts, your internal feelings and all that external stimuli like sights and sounds. And as capable as the RAS is, it can’t distinguish between reality and fantasy. Are you beginning to see how this is all coming together?

Do this …

You will pave the way for your future success by planting the seeds of success now in your subconscious mind. You’ll do this by feeding your RAS a steady flow of success images, sounds, tastes, and thoughts. The more specific you are the easier it will be for your RAS to capture your new reality.

So don’t just say you want to live in a big house some day. Find pictures and even blueprints of what you envision. Study every detail and begin to feel what it’s like to turn into your driveway. Hear the tires rolling over the cobblestones as you travel around back to the carriage house.

Feel the touch of the button on your dashboard that opens the towering oak doors. The more vivid you make your pictures and the more deeply your engage all your senses, the more real everything becomes.

Meanwhile, inside your head …

If you’re sincere about gaining success, or confidence, or wealth, your RAS will begin to replace old data with new data. The new data – belief that you’re already successful, confident and wealthy – is your new primary focus and so will replace what’s no longer your primary focus – the self-doubt, the indecision, the procrastination, the thoughts of failure and inadequacy.

And by the way, while you may not be consciously focusing on these negatives, you can bet that your subconscious and unconscious minds are clogged with this toxic waste.

Don’t question the effectiveness of this method!

At this early stage it’s far too easy for ingrained negative beliefs to overwhelm any attempt to replace them. Just do the exercises. Begin forming the habits of successful people. Dress as if you’re successful. Carry yourself as if you’re successful. Believe that you’re successful.

And just like your RAS can find a CVS sign in that sea of neon, your RAS will begin to recognize the people, the places, the events, and the opportunities that will bring you success. Or let’s look at it another way.

If you’re not a bird lover chances are pretty good you won’t have an ear for that sparrow in the city. That advantage goes to the one who’s tuned into the sound of the sparrow. Likewise, if you’re not tuned in to what it’s like to be successful, you’ll miss most of the clues and the opportunities that will bring you success.

The advantage goes to the one who’s familiar with what success looks like, feels like, tastes like and smells like … even if it’s only “in your head.”

All the best,

I hope you take this teachings and put them to action today. The path to attain, whatever it is you want in life, starts within yourself. Within your frame of mind.
